Agnes Olive
An innovative artist, Agnes collects natural indigenous materials such as corn, wheat, sugarcane and tropical flowers, to make paper pulp. She then combines wire, seeds, local grasses and bones to create spiritual and whimsical two and three-dimensional art forms.
Her crone figures are a result of a ceremony in 2003 where she became an offical Crone, a woman who accepts her wisdom. Over the years, her work has been inspired by her extensive travels through the world and her experiences from living aborad in Asia, West Africa and for the past eight years in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
