A master of raku, Annemarie integrates Mexican folk pottery techniques to create magical, mysterious bronze and ceramic sculpture. A former teacher at the Instituto Allende, Annemarie is an acknowledged master of raku, the ancient Japanese art of pottery glazing.
Before Annemarie and Gary Slipper married, Gary encouraged Annemarie to leave her job as a television prop master and direct her energy full time to ceramic sculpture.
"He told me to go into the studio and have fun. So I never think I'm going to do something big and serious. I just lose myself in the process."
