Gary Slipper
Gary is the artist-as-archaeologist, digging through his own dreams. His deeply spiritual subject matter reflects an unflinching attention to fantasy and the unconscious imagination. Historian Morton Stith has called Gary a "Mythographer," and compares his work to Tlacuilo, a name the Aztecs gave storytellers who drew pictures while telling their tales.
Gary Slipper is a man utterly devoted to the joy of painting. Gary has had more than 21 exhibitions since his graduation from Banff School of Fine Arts. His paintings have been purchased for numerous private and corporate collections.
Gary's recent long-term project is a complex series in black and white -- an exploration of duality of consciousness as it manifests itself throughout the world.
