Saturday night is a time of fantasy. You can be whoever you want to be on Saturday night. I am every person I photograph. The Saturday Night series began in New York in 1988 and has taken Deborah and her camera across America to places where people gather at night. It celebrates the characters who emerge on Saturday night; those people who go out each weekend to reinvent themselves in the collective spirit of the night.
Photographer and muralist Deborah Whitehouse moved to San Miguel last winter in the midst of a widely successful career in both fine art color photography and large scale public art photo murals. Her move to San Miguel enabled her to continue the artistic and cultural exploration of her work in this rich international setting, including that of her acclaimed Saturday Night series.
